About Carl:

Carl was a part of the invasion push that started at the Kuwait border and ended in the Northern most city of Mosul, Iraq on the Turkish border. He was attached to the 101st in Mosul and then returned to his parent unit of 4ID in Sammara, Iraq. His parent unit 1st Brigade 4ID captured Saddam outside Tikrit, Iraq just 40 somewhat miles from his station in Sammara. Carl worked the first 6 month’s of his tour directly with the Scout Platoon/MP Platoon as the Demolition NCO and conducted countless raids with them capturing and destroying thousands of pounds of insurgent weapons and explosives. He also worked with and supported the imbeded ODA Team at Sammara. He then worked directly with an EOD team attached to 1/66 task force and helped conduct counter IED and insurgent demolition of countless munitions and explosives.

About Tanis:

Tanis had never fired a gun prior to when her and Carl met. They have been married for 26 years. Tanis is an avid hunter and has been training with Carl throughout the marriage. She is an excellent instructor in the arts of the pistol for women and the defensive pistol 1 and 2 courses outlined in the NRA marksmanship program. She trains vigorously with her Glock 34, 12 gauge, .243, AR platform, defensive tactics in open hand and edge weapons.
